This is absolutely hilarious! My Spanish instructor told us about this and said that we had to check it out. Europe has an annual song competition called Eurovision that has been around since 1956. Basically, Eurovision is a competition similar to American Idol because people watch the show and then call in to vote for their favorites. Eurovision has the reputation of being quite cheezy... so, a Spanish comedian joined the running to be the Spanish representation. Surprisingly, he won and went on to win 16th place (I think) in the 2008 competition. If you watch the videos from previous years and other countries, you can see exactly what Rodolfo was making fun of. Some Spaniards are embarrassed to have such a representation in the competition, others find it hilarious and love that he made fun of the general Eurovision competition.
